A windscreen of a car, a bus or a truck is large enough and oriented towards the movement direction, therefore, the possibility to crack the glass is big if a pebble or any other road litter flying from under the wheel of the leading vehicle hits it. Nowadays repair of glass restoring all strength and optical properties thereof is possible in case of certain cracks. A qualified glass expert can repair a crack area if no stubborn dirt or moisture is accumulated.
There are three major types of windscreen cracks: a) “bull’s eye” (usually a small oval piece of glass cracks out); b) star (several glass crack branches are visible); c) “combined crack” (both above mentioned crack types in one).
